June 2011 LSAT Score Release Date
If there's one thing all LSAT test-takers agree on is that it takes too darn long to get LSAT scores back. Every year the same comments are thrown about: "It's a scantron
, LSAC -- it should be easy to tally it up," and "Does it really take three weeks to count a bunch of bubbles?"
This year it's no different. However, June 2011 LSAT test-takers can take heart in the knowledge that, although it will still take longer than they'd like to get their scores back, chances are very good that they'll get them at least a few days before the "official" score release date. How is that possible, you say? We're glad you asked.
Historically, LSAC has released LSAT scores ahead of their stated score release date. Their reasoning for this (and, no, it's not to drive test-takers batty with anticipation) is that the score release date given for each test is not the date scores will go out. Rather, it is a deadline--a "you'll definitely get your score by this day" date, if you will.
Let's take a look at the June LSAT score release trends for the last five years:
Based on the information in this chart we can say that, on average, June LSAT scores have been released 3 days before the official release date and/or 18 days after the test date.
Now let's take a look at the dates for this year's (the June 2011) LSAT:Test date:
Monday, June 6, 2011Official score release date:
Wednesday, June 29, 2011
Using the information gathered from the chart above, there are a number of possibilities for actual score release dates:3 days before the official release date:
Sunday, June 26, 201118 days after the test date:
Friday, June 24, 2011
So you could potentially
see your score come in at any point between now and Sunday. We believe that LSAC tends to go by number of days before the official date, rather than days after the test date, so our money's more on Sunday than Friday. However, because the "three days" date falls on a Sunday (and we don't think LSAC works on Sundays), it's got us thinking that the most likely date for a score release is Monday, June 27, 2011 (we're really hoping we're wrong on our prediction, though, and they are released today, Friday 6/24--we know everyone is chomping at the bit to get their scores!).
Here's our final take:Likeliest release date:
Monday, June 27, 2011Second likeliest release date:
Saturday, June 25, 2011Third likeliest release date:
Friday, June 24, 2011
Obviously, we're rooting for today, but we'll take any date ahead of the official one! What do you guys think? Any predictions?
