Pre-Course Practice Test

One of the most important aspects of LSAT preparation is to regularly take official practice tests and track your progress over time. In this section of your Student Center, you’ll find dozens of complete tests that include score reports for detailed feedback and analysis.

To succeed on test day you have to know what winning feels like, and that’s where Practice Tests come in. Your Student Center contains over 40 complete, official LSATs! Do you have to take them all? No, but we do recommend that you take certain tests at different intervals throughout your course. As for the rest of the tests available, be sure to take as many as you can so you’re ready to go come test time.

To take your Pre-Course Practice Test:

Login to the PowerScore Student Portal.
Click on the “My Enrollments” box.
Click the link under “Online Student Center Access.”
Click "Practice Tests and Results"
Click "Take" next to "October 2012 Digital LSAT"

Please note: The LSATs labeled Tests 1-6 include an unscored, experimental section. We have provided an answer key for that section so you can check your performance.

What should I bring to this class?

PowerScore Student Portal

When you enrolled as a student with PowerScore, you were emailed login information for the PowerScore Student Portal. If you don’t recall your login information, use the “Reset Password” function on the Portal login page. Your username is typically your email address.

Within this Portal you’ll find...

Course Schedule and Location. Please click the My Enrollments box and select your course to make sure you know when and where your class meets.
Information about your account with PowerScore: payment status, contact information, tutoring inquiries, and more.
Access to your PowerScore Online Student Center, a one-stop-shop for all your study needs.

The Online Student Center

You now have access to the PowerScore Online Student Center. This is home base for all of your out-of-class LSAT prep. While your course book and in-class instruction are critical, your out-of-class efforts are equally vital to achieving your goals.

Before your class begins, log into your Student Portal and visit the Student Center to familiarize yourself with its various sections: practice tests and test scoring, explanations for every lesson and homework question, virtual lesson recap modules taught by our senior instructors, and page after page of supplementary content. (More on this below).

Everything is organized to help you stay on track and build upon concepts learned in class, so plan to visit your OSC as often as possible as you work through the course.

OSC Resources: Within your OSC you’ll find the following sections. Let’s take a brief look at each.

Lesson and Homework Supplements

Each lesson in the course has supplementary homework specific to the strategies and concepts discussed in class. These homework sections include full explanations for every question in the lesson, drills to hone your skills, and problem sets to reinforce everything you’ve learned. It’s only with focused practice that true mastery is possible.

The Lesson and Homework Supplements page is where you’ll also find On Demand lesson recap videos taught by PowerScore’s Senior Instructor team. These modules are perfect if you have to miss a class, or just review a challenging concept.

We’re always here to guide you, even when your class isn’t in session. Here’s how to get some out-of-class help:

Weekly LSAT Clinics

Every Friday, we host a weekly LSAT clinic, exclusively for enrolled students, that will cover a different topic that will assist you in preparing for the LSAT.

Once your course begins, we will email you weekly with an updated topic schedule and directions on how to attend. The schedule will also be posted on your Online Student Center. If you would like to attend prior to your course starting, please email us at LSAT@powerscore.com and we will set that up for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I receiving the PowerScore Bible books?

The course book you receive in the mail is different from the Bibles, which are geared more towards self-study than live instruction. The course book and accompanying online materials are specifically designed for the LSAT Course and contain thousands of pages of material built on PowerScore’s famous methodology—a proven system that will provide you with maximum LSAT comprehension. These are our most comprehensive materials--more so even than our well-known Bibles—and they’re all you need to complete the course.

Should I begin studying the strategies and concepts now to get a head start?

You’ve signed up for the most comprehensive LSAT prep course available, so there’s no need for extensive pre-course work or attempting to “get a head start” prior to your first lesson. We know you’re probably tempted to start working through your course materials, but we strongly encourage you not to. Your course is designed to take you from novice to expert as you progress through the lessons; trust the process. By working ahead uncoached you run the risk of developing some bad habits—habits you’ll then need to unlearn once the classes start. So sit tight and let the course get you to where you want to be!

What should I do before the class starts?

Will you register me for the LSAT?

PowerScore does not register students for the actual LSAT. You must complete the registration through LSAC, the makers of the test, and CAS, their registration and application service. This is done online at www.lsac. org. The deadline to register for each LSAT varies, but is typically at least one month prior to the test date, so if you have not already registered for the next test, consider registering now. Please note that as detailed in the PowerScore LSAT Course Enrollment Agreement, the PowerScore Course Materials (electronic and printed) and access to the Online Student Center are for use solely by the enrolled student and may not be reproduced in any way, auctioned, borrowed, loaned, given, or rented to any other person or entity.
