Pre-Course Practice Test and Primers

If you have never taken a computer-adaptive GMAT (either online or the officially-administered test), we strongly recommend that you take one of the two GMAT Official Practice Exams prior to Lesson One of your course. Taking this complete, timed practice test is not required, however doing so will give you a preliminary score, introduce you to the GMAT, and provide you with initial insights into your strengths and weaknesses. Since this first test is simply a diagnostic and is not reviewed in the On Demand Course lectures, you may do this at your convenience, but preferably prior to Lesson One.

Keep in mind that this first exam is NOT an indicator of your potential, so don't panic if you score lower than you expected! The course will teach you everything you need to know to confidently attack the test and ultimately increase your score. If, however, you need a refresher in either basic Math or basic Verbal skills, please take some time to review the appropriate pre-course primers before you begin your course.

On Demand Lesson Access

PowerScore Student Portal

When you enrolled as a student with PowerScore, you either created or were provided with login information for the PowerScore Student Portal. If you don’t recall your login information, use the “Reset Password” function on the Portal login page. Your username is typically your email address.

Within this Portal you’ll find...

Information about your account with PowerScore. Here you can view your payment status, our contact information, tutoring inquiries you have made, and more.
Access to your PowerScore Online Student Center. This one-stop-shop for all your study needs contains your On Demand lessons and supplemental videos, homework, lesson supplements, and many more invaluable resources.

The Online Student Center

You now have access to the PowerScore Online Student Center, which is the hub for homework, your online lessons and other supplemental materials.

We recommend that you log into your Student Portal and visit the Student Center to familiarize yourself with its various sections. Everything is organized to help you stay on track and build upon concepts learned in the lectures. While your course book and on-demand lectures are critical, the homework is equally vital to achieving a commendable score increase.

Accessing the OSC and GMAT On Demand Course

To access the Online Student Center

Login to the PowerScore Student Portal.
Click on the “My Enrollments” box.
Click the link under “Online Student Center Access.”

You are able to access the Online Student Center as long as your course subscription is active (six months following your purchase).

Online Student Center Resources

Within your OSC you’ll find the following five sections. Let’s take a brief look at each:

Introduction to GMAT Preparation

In this section of your Student Center, you’ll find instructions for how to download the free GMAT Official Practice Exams software from GMAC to access two actual GMAT CAT tests (one of which you'll take prior to starting the course).

You'll also be able to access our Arithmetic Primer and Grammar Primer, which would be helpful to review if you need a refresher on some of the basic skills needed to succeed on the test.

On Demand Course Lessons

Course Homework

To help you best absorb and apply our methods, each lesson in the course has supplementary homework specific to the strategies and concepts discussed in the On Demand lectures. These homework sections include questions from The Official Guide to the GMAT, problem sets for certain question types, and additional reading relevant to the topics covered in class. We strongly encourage you to finish each homework assignment before moving on to the next lesson.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I receiving the PowerScore Bible books?

The course books that you receive in the mail are different from the Bibles, which are geared more towards self-study than live instruction. Our course books are specifically designed for our On Demand Course and are built on PowerScore’s famous methodology—a proven system that will provide you with maximum GMAT comprehension. These are our most comprehensive publications--more so even than our well-known Bibles—and they’re all you need to complete the course.

What should I do while I'm waiting for my books to arrive?

Simply take the Pre-Course Practice test to establish a preliminary score, and you’re ready to go! Feel free to also browse the Online Student Center and familiarize yourself with all the resources it provides, but as mentioned above there’s no need to dive into any of the lessons until your books arrive. We know it will be tempting to start viewing the on demand lessons right away, but we strongly advise you to wait until you receive your course books to begin. The books are referred to throughout the lessons and serve as a crucial counterpart to the concepts and strategies your instructor will be discussing.

Can I watch the lectures using my mobile device?

Please note that as detailed in the PowerScore GMAT Course Enrollment Agreement, the PowerScore Course Materials (electronic and printed) and access to the Online Student Center are for use solely by the enrolled student and may not be reproduced in any way, auctioned, borrowed, loaned, given, or rented to any other person or entity.
